Public relations have great importance in contemporary business and management understanding. Bahçeşehir University's Department of Public Relations and Publicity aims to educate communication professionals specializing in various dimensions such as reputation and image management, crisis management, media relations, digital strategy, social media strategy, content creation, investor relations, and event management within the context of strategic and corporate communication. Our department received Turkey's first communication education accreditation from the Communication Education Evaluation Accreditation Board and has an instructional program that aligns with national and international public relations programs.
In the constantly evolving communication industry, we understand the importance of staying ahead of the times. Consequently, our curriculum includes courses that equip our students with the latest knowledge and skills required in the field. Our courses cover all the fundamental areas of modern public relations, such as strategic communication, media relations, crisis communication, design, creativity, digital marketing, data analysis, ethics, sustainability, political communication, social media, content creation, community management, event management, and the metaverse.
With an approach that emphasizes strategic thinking and innovative use of new media, our students possess the competence to manage online communities, develop digital strategies, and establish effective communication with the media. Our students' work is recognized with various awards in communication competitions such as TÜHİD Golden Compass and Young Communicators every year. The BAU Department of Public Relations and Publicity presents the "BAU Innovative Technology Use in Communication Special Award" at the PRİDA Communication Awards organized by the Communication Consultancy Companies Association.
We encourage our students to find the most suitable role in the industry based on their individual interests, talents, and goals. Our department has strong connections with the industry, offering opportunities for our students to intern at leading agencies and companies in Turkey. These internships help our students build significant business relationships and find employment before graduation.
In addition to our Sectoral Education Model and CO-OP collaborations, we host industry representatives in seminars and workshops every semester. This allows our students to get acquainted with the industry closely, learn about current trends, build a professional network, and explore potential job opportunities. Furthermore, our department has a practice agency where students develop projects for civil society organizations. Students in the BAU Department of Public Relations and Publicity also have the opportunity to specialize in areas that support their field, such as design and visual communication, through the Certificate of Expertise program.
