3. "I came here because it was said that I can get information from the Dean’s Office, can you help me?"
Certainly! We would like to support you in all matters related to our units. Still, when you are asked to get information from the “Dean’s Office”, you can ask “Which dean’s office?” It's good for you to ask because If it is a subject that you need to get information from your Faculty Dean, you can visit your faculty rather than coming to us from all that way.
4. I want to open a student club. What should I do for this?
In order to open a student club, you can visit the Student Organizations and Activities Unit on the 1st floor of South Campus D Block for detailed information.
5. What do Student Clubs & Communities do?
There are nearly 80 clubs & communities working under the Dean of Students Office of our University which carry out social, cultural and sports activities throughout the year, contributing to the development of our students in terms of network and support for them to spend their university life in the most efficient way.
6. When does the Student Clubs week start?
New Student Clubs and Communities applications are made within the first five weeks of each academic year. After this period, the student club stand week begins. All processes related to the applications will be announced from the official e-mail address of the Dean of Students Office and will be sent to the school e-mails of the students (your student mail address with the bahcesehir.edu.tr extension)
7. When I have a problem, how can I solve it?
BAU Student Solution Center responds to all kinds of questions about the school as soon as possible. The help.bau.edu.tr address has been created in order for students to quickly get an answer to the topics they need. They can create a written request or call the solution center at 444 28 64 and reach the unit they have a related question for.
8. What are the services offered by the Dean of Students?
All our units within the Dean of Students are as follows;
Psychological Counseling and Guidance Center (PDRM), Student Recognition and Guidance Unit (Compass), Sports Directorate, Scholarship Coordination Unit, Medicosocial Center (infirmary), ISLU (International Student Life Unit), Student Solution Center, BAU FOCUS Life Skills Program, Student Council, Disabled Student Unit.
9. What does the Student Council do?
The Student Council is a community selected by you and represents you in the decisions taken for the university. You can convey your problems, requests and suggestions to the student council, which acts with the slogan "Your voice", through faculty representatives and make your voice heard in decision-making mechanisms throughout your university life.
10. In which subjects does the Disabled Student Unit help?
The unit exists to identify and meet the needs of students with special needs to make the university accessible to everyone.
11. How can I benefit from the National Athlete Scholarship at your university?
The text of the National Athlete Scholarship Agreement signed between Bahçeşehir University and the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Turkey is as follows;
If the national athletes (if they certify that they are a national athlete within the last 4 years) are entitled to be placed by choosing a part of our University as a result of the YKS exam, if they comply with the conditions in the agreement on granting scholarships to National Athletes, the athlete deserves a 100% scholarship, provided that it is limited to the education period.
12. I am not a National Athlete. Is there an Athlete scholarship in your school?
Our university gives 100% scholarship to its students who represent our school in team sports (at the highest level of the organizations organized by the Turkish University Sports Federation).
Team sports currently available at our university; Men's Football, Women's Volleyball, Men's Basketball, Women's Basketball, Women's Tennis teams.
If our athletes, who represent our school in the competitions organized by the Turkish University Sports Federation in Individual Sports Branches, achieve a degree in the competitions, they will receive a scholarship at the rates written below in the next year of the academic year;
First 50%
Second 35%
Third 25%
Note: If our newly registered students, after paying the registration fee, participate in the competitions held during the year with the approval of the Sports Activities Unit and succeed in the competitions, the scholarships are given in the following year according to the degree they have achieved.
13. Is there an audition to enter the Sports Teams?
In order to bring new athletes to our school teams, auditions are held in the relevant branches (Men's Football, Women's Volleyball, Men's Basketball, Women's Basketball, Women's Tennis, Men's Tennis) in October every year. You can follow the announcements about the auditions from your student e-mails or our social media accounts.
14. Which sports activities are carried out in your university during the academic year?
During the academic year at our university, students can be a part of American Football, Men's Football, Tennis, Table Tennis, Swimming, Skiing, Snowboarding, Basketball, Volleyball, Hado, E-Sports, Taekwondo, Sailing, Modern Pentathlon, Chess teams and can participate in tournaments and inter-university championships if they are elected for the teams at the beginning of the year.
15. Who can benefit from Psychological Counseling and Guidance Service? Are any fees charged?
All BAU students can apply to PDRM and it is free of charge.
16. How does the counseling process help me?
Psychological Counseling sessions provide a safe space to talk about and express your feelings and thoughts. This process is often accompanied by experiences such as gaining different perspectives and new awareness and creating changes in unhelpful thought and behavior patterns. It is necessary to continue the process for several sessions for change to occur and regular participation is very important to get the most benefit from the process.

18. Are any records hold about applicants of the Psychological Counseling and Guidance Center in their academic files? Can sessions be shared with others?
Confidentiality is essential in the psychological counseling relationship. All information is kept confidential. In PDRM, ethical rules are followed when information and records need to be stored, destroyed or shared with others. The records related to the counseling relationship (interview notes, test data, correspondence and any other documents) are not the property of the institution where the psychological counselor works. These are used for professional purposes and are not disclosed to others without the student's consent. It does not enter the academic record. Only in case of a situation that may endanger the life of the person or someone else, the relevant information is shared with the competent authorities.
19. To whom should I forward my requests and questions regarding scholarship opportunities and if I have financial problems regarding the Academic Year Registration renewal fee?

20. Is there an opportunity to work at school that provides experience/financial aid?
Students who meet the criteria can work in the units needed in accordance with their curriculum. They can send an e-mail to dso@bau.edu.tr and/or apply by following the announcements from their student e-mails or the instagram page of the dean of students office.
21. What is the Student Recognition and Academic Support Unit (BAU Compass)?
BAU Compass is a unit that provides academic, personal and professional counseling as well as guidance services in order to ensure that Bahçeşehir University students have a healthy, successful and happy school term. It offers individual and group counseling, seminars and workshops on academic issues (academic anxiety, stress, procrastination, motivation, adaptation to university life, time management, etc.).
