The President of Colombia Visited Bahçeşehir University

Bahçeşehir University held the event titled "The Legacy of Atatürk's Thought" with the participation of the President of the Republic of Colombia, H.E Iván Duque Márquez. In his speech, Iván Duque Márquez touched upon Atatürk's legacy and influence from the past to the present. BAU President Prof.Dr.Şirin Karadeniz and Enver Yücel were among the event participants.

Prof.Dr.Şirin Karadeniz made the opening speech and Prof. Esra Hatioğlu moderated the session. In his remarks, H.E Iván Duque Márquez, mentioned the need to ensure food security in Turkey and Colombia, the need to make investments against the uncertainties brought about by the climate crisis, and the importance of Atatürk. At the same time, he quoted Atatürk's phrase "Peace at home, peace in the world" and expressed that Atatürk inspired them in the administration of the state.

In closing, Enver Yücel and Prof.Dr. Şirin Karadeniz presented the “Honorary Guest Lectureship” plaque and the gift to H.E Iván Duque Márquez.
