The subject of planning the educational activities of Bahcesehir University Faculty of Medicine for 2020-2021 Spring Term was discussed by the Faculty Coordinators Board, Measurement and Evaluation Commission and Medical Education Development Supreme Council and presented to the Faculty Board. In the assessment made during the meeting of Faculty Board dated 17.02.2021, factors such as course of the pandemic in Istanbul, mutation data announced by the Ministry of Health, numbers of international students and excessive number of students who are not available in the province or the country for the time being, Phase I (Grades 1-2-3) students not being included in the vaccination program yet, and the risk to be caused by the presence of students and academicians together in face-to-face trainings in terms of continuation of the risk of infection were taken into consideration, and the following decisions were made within the framework of Hybrid Education within the scope of the announcement of the Directorate of Council of Higher Education dated 17.02.2021:
1. Phase I (Class 1, 2 and 3) theoretical and applied courses will continue to be held online over the Microsoft (MS) Teams by taking into account the Faculty program qualifications, and Phase I exams will be held online. Course plans and examinations will be announced by the class coordinators.
2. Theoretical courses of Phase II (Class 4-5) professional practice courses (internships) will be held online via MS Teams application while the applied courses will be held ace to face within the framework of Covid-19 pandemic measures (in diluted environments) *. In this regard, it is of great importance for Phase II students to complete their vaccination processes.
3. Phase III (Class 6, intern) internships will continue to be made face-to-face in compliance with the pandemic rules. In this regard, it is of great importance for Phase III students to complete their vaccinations.
