Dear Graduates,
As in the whole world, our country has been under the threat of a very dangerous global disease outbreak for months. Humanity is facing serious problems due to heartbreaking loss of lives and economic problems caused in this extraordinary period. We hope that humanity will survive this extraordinary period by gaining of internalizing the value of nature, peace, friendship, solidarity and unity in the light of science.
Unfortunately, you have experienced the last period of your university education period in this global epidemic, where the whole world is trying to survive by being in quarantine and wearing mask for protection, and holding breath like watching a horror movie. In this difficult process, we are lucky as being part of BAU, because we are healthy. We are lucky because BAU has the technological infrastructure and online studying experiences that help to complete this process with online teaching in the most efficient way. We are lucky because you, our student, comprehend the world very well and have a high level of consciousness and common sense.
We haven’t come together and talked you face to face for about 4.5 months. We had to perform all our classes, studies, exams online. We missed the days we taught together in the classrooms, the smell of the laboratories, and the lights of the studios. We missed your presence which gave life to our campuses, your youthful and happy voices, bright and smiling faces which filled the sphere of our university. Believe me, we missed too much.
Despite everything, we overcame all difficulties, you succeeded and now you graduate from our university.
We plan to hold our graduation ceremony in two stages, which we live with great enthusiasm every year, due to the pandemic this year. Our first ceremony will be held on August 15, 2020 online, where our whole family will be together. Our second ceremony will be held in D Terrace of our university under coronavirus epidemic rules in accordance with the following program on the basis of faculty and department. Our graduates who cannot attend the campus will be able to participate online if they want to attend the second ceremony. We will hold our graduation ceremony with great enthusiasm and joy as in the past. We believe that the honored BAU diploma will bring a bright future to your life, and you will keep this graduation ceremony specific to your period alive in your hearth as a memory of your unforgettable BAU years.

Despite the sadness of separation, We are happy to know that we will always be together in thought, science, study, service and success in the virtue of humanity.

30 minutes before the graduation ceremony, our graduates should be connected to the zoom link to be announced.
After graduation ceremony is over, graduates will attend the graduation ceremonies at D Terrace based on the dates and times specified according to the departments of the faculties. For our graduates who will not attend the second ceremony, they will connect an online ceremony if they wish.
Graduation ceremony will be broadcasted on canli.bau.edu.tr for parents and other guests. 2 guests of the students can attend the graduation ceremony.
The university may provide/rent out graduation robes from the office for a certain fee in order for students who wants to have their photograph taken.
A cap robe distribution office will be established within our university for our students who will graduate. Our students who will attend the online graduation ceremony that will take place on August 15, will not participate in the face-to-face graduation ceremony to be held on the D terrace, and will be able to make a request by filling out the request form on the website keptalep.bau.edu.tr and sending a cap to the address they specify. Our students who will attend the online graduation ceremony and will not attend the face-to-face graduation ceremony to be held on the D terrace and reside in Istanbul are required to come and take their caps from the university. Requests made in Istanbul will be void.
Rental office for graduation robe will be established in the B204 classroom between the dates of 04.08.2020 and 27.08.2020 (except on sundays) and between 09.30 and 12.00, and 13.00 and 16.00. Rented graduated robes can be returned between the dates of 17.08.2020 and 28.08.2020, and between 09:30- 12:00, and 13:00-16:00 against receipt. Returns made without a receipt will not be accepted.

The participation criteria for the graduation ceremony are as follows; If you consider yourself that you have met the graduation criteria and your name is not included in the list, you can make a request on organizasyon@cco.bau.edu.tr by entering your student ID, TR ID No, name and surname, department and faculty.
English translation is available for the graduation ceremony.

• For non-thesis programs; Students who have completed 10 courses, have been successful in their projects and have achieved a 3.00 GPA
• For programs with thesis; Students who have successfully completed 8 courses, have successfully completed the Thesis 2 course and have a 3.00 GPA
