Bahçeşehir University Senate Decision:
The French National Assembly’s passing of a “So-called Armenian Genocide” bill shows that France is not a place for free-thought any more. The withdrawal of even an amendment proposal, which called for an exemption for the academic and scientific studies from the punishment set by the bill, is a sign of France not only closing its doors to the freedom of thought, but also to science. As Bahçeşehir University Senate, we strongly condemn this ancient decision and attitude, which is against European Convention of Human Rights and Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
