Bahçeşehir University (BAU), celebrating its 20th age this year, started the new 2018-2019 academic year. The members of board of trustees of BAU, the Rector Prof. Dr. Şenay Yalçın, academicians, students and parents joined the ceremony taking place in Beşiktaş Campus.
“WE WANT TO BE ONE OF THE BEST UNIVERSITIES IN THE WORLD”
Enver Yücel, making a speech in the ceremony, the chairman of Bahçeşehir Uğur Educational Institutions, said: “We exist in every part of Turkey. Our goal is to provide everywhere in Turkey with the qualified education and globalize in the consideration of these experiences. We are gratified by the point we arrived at. We are among the best in Turkey, which is so important. However, we want to exist across the world. We want to compete with the world from now on. We want to be one of the best universities in the world.”

ONE OF THE MAIN TARGETS IS THE WELL-RAISED YOUNGS
The Rector Prof. Dr. Şenay Yalçın, emphasizing that they specified the main philosophies, while establishing Bahçeşehir University, as taking a leading part in internationalizing the Turkish higher education, finding occupations easily for the young in the changing world, and raising the young well in terms of representation of Turkey, said: “We chose our language of education as English for this reason. We have progressed a lot to the point where we are. We are going to provide service approximately thirty thousand students with the teaching staff including nearly 1200 people.”
“THE IMPORTANT THING IS HOW TO PRODUCE INFORMATION FROM INFORMATION”
Prof. Dr. Şenay Yalçın continued his words as:
“Universities do not only provide education, but also bring people in vision. Upon accomplishing this goal, we will have raised not people looking for a job but producing the job. This is also one of our important targets, which iso crucial for us. The understanding of the universities of 21st century has changed a lot. In this digital era, information can be so easily reached in terms of education, but the important thing is how to produce information from information and how to use it. We, as Bahçeşehir University, feel happy to accomplish this. However, we have much more to accomplish.”
While Enver Yücel was presenting the achievement certificate of Ph.D. degrees to the academicians who completed their doctoral degree, the ceremony ended with the first lecture of the year that was given by Prof. Dr. Yılmaz Esmer.
