5th International BAU-Drug Design Congress 2017 will be held in BAU's Besiktas Campus between October 19-21, 2017. In the congress to last three days, scientists will make discussions on designs and developments of new generation medicines and the approaches on treatment of diseases.
5th International Drug Design Congress will host well known scientists in academy and industry as it does every year. In the congress, which will be about the latest applications and new approaches on drug research and development and will last for three days, new approaches used and designed for treatment of important diseases will be discussed.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Serdar Durdagi, Lecturer of Bahcesehir University Medicine Faculty Biophysics Department, leads the congress. Durdagi, who mentioned that the congress enables presentation of seminars from different disciplines on new drug discoveries, said the following about the main target and objects of the 5th International Drug Design Congress:
"With extension of the average life duration in the world, health problems and disease risks to be experienced in older ages increase. Therefore, academic and industrial interest on innovative and rational research and development subjects on new treatment mechanisms and discovery of new treatments increases.Therefore, in this congress which we hold in the international field for last 5 years, the number of notifications presented and participators from different countries increase day by day. With these aspects, the congress has been one of the most prestigious congresses in this field in the world. In the congress, unique drug designs and new treatment mechanisms will be discussed for three days. With presentation of new drug discoveries and seminars from different disciplines in the congress, it is targeted to accelerate the works in these areas by contributing to new cooperation with information and technology transfers.
Another target is to make contribution on the scientific discoveries by discussing the latest innovations, developments, applications and approaches in drug design field in the congress. Development of university-business world and public-private cooperation on use and production of information and technology is also among the priorities. Place of the R&D works on development of products and production processes based on advanced technology and commercialization of these new innovative works and increase of the number of patents are also among the targets to be discussed in the congress."
