"Netas-BAU Techno Academy Master and Doctoral Program in Computer Engineering with Thesis" started by Netas, the leading digital conversion company of Turkey, with cooperation of Bahcesehir University (BAU) in 2014 has given its first graduates.
"Netas-BAU Techno Academy Master and Doctoral Program in Computer Engineering with Thesis” started by Netas with cooperation of Bahcesehir University (BAU) has given its first graduates. Netas R&D engineers, targeting to work in multimedia technologies and security fields, benefit from the program prepared by BAU academicians and Netas engineers. Totally 46 Netas employees, as 39 for master degree and 7 for doctoral degree, were registered to the program.
"WE GIVE IMPORTANCE TO UNIVERSITY - INDUSTRY COOPERATION"
Prof. Nafiz Arica, Dean of the Engineering and Nature Sciences Faculty, who came to the stage for making his speech in the graduation ceremony, mentioned that, until now, 298 BAU electronics, computer and software engineering students have taken education in the facilities of Netas and they have engaged in training and project development activities. Nafiz Arica, mentioning that they give importance to the cooperation of university - industry as Bahcesehir University (BAU), said "We believe that we became an example for the other universities in this subject and we have signed contracts in different sizes and subjects with approximately 1300 companies for our students to take education according to their needs and to be ready for the business life as soon as they graduate."
"BAU, THE SOURCE OF OUR R&D LAB"
Netas' CEO Mujdat Altay, who came to the stage for making his speech, mentioned that they planned this project in the year 2008 and said that he appreciates Bahcesehir University (BAU) for such an important program and cooperation. Mujdat Altay, who mentioned that he experiences a warm welcome whenever he comes to this university, said "We feel like we are at home in Bahcesehir University. We need innovative universities. Because innovation cannot be succeeded only in the companies and our R&D laboratories. Our R&D laboratory's only source is the great universities such as BAU."
Bahcesehir University (BAU) Rector Prof. Senay Yalcin, who came to the stage as the last person, emphasized that the borders in academy, science and business world are removed quickly and merely a new world order is created in parallel with the magnifying developments and changes in today's world, and said "It must not be forgotten that those who follow and take part in these changes and developments will survive. In this context, two organizations both of which have experience of half century as one in technology and other in industry have created a real university - industry cooperation by coming together. Within this contract, computer engineering thesis and doctoral program were realized within BAU - NETAS".
Bahcesehir University (BAU) Rector Prof. Senay Yalcin, mentioning that creation of a dynamic structure to meet the needs of the society has become an obligation rather than a need, said "For this reason, Bahcesehir University (BAU) is renewing its researcher’s staff within cooperation in the sector. The mission of our country to have active role in the higher education with the free applications made by our university is to continue in a continuously rising success line. Our graduate school of natural and applied sciences which is leaded by BAU in this project has the target of growing up individuals having abilities to represent our country with success in every corner of the world by making them researcher, questioner and the individuals meeting the local needs by completing qualified theoretical education with practice." With help of the lesson structure of our programs, the students can select lessons from other areas in addition to their own areas and get help in their plans of career.
IT IS TARGETED TO BECOME AN EXAMPLE FOR THE OTHER R&D CENTERS
"Netas-BAU Techno Academy" which creates an example for the cooperation of university - industry by opening the knowledge and experience of the industry for the universities is a communication network in which the university gets applied information from the industry and the industry learns the latest technologies from the universities. With the program, it is targeted to make projects by increasing the cooperation between university and industry and to become an example for the other R&D centers. In addition, Netas' ability to increase the number of students and graduates with master and doctoral degree and to create technological value-added products that can be sold to the world with new technologies is being improved. With the application, contribution is made for the increase of the source of qualified human resources of Turkey.
“Netas-BAU Techno-Academy” program has also taken place within the best practices to be presented in the category of "Public-University-Industry best practices" within "R&D Centers Good Practice Examples Summit" to be held on 13-14 April 2017 in Kahramanmaraş by the Science and Technology General Directorate of the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology.
